Who we are

There are people living in Tenerife behind this website

We're not a platform with a search box and a call centre in another country. We're a Canarian family business based in El Médano, with over 25 years in the industry, that picks every excursion you see here one by one, knows the providers by name and answers WhatsApp from the island.

Our story

Why Excursions Canaries exists

Tenerife gets millions of visitors a year, and almost all of them book their excursions on websites that have never set foot on the island. It shows: stops that aren't worth it, coaches picking you up at six in the morning for a two-hour tour, prices inflated by three middlemen.

We set up Excursions Canaries to do it the other way round: meet the provider first, sell it after. Every activity in this catalogue is one we've done ourselves, or that someone we trust has done and told us exactly how it went. If an excursion doesn't convince us, it doesn't go up — however good the commission.

Twenty-five years in this business is long enough to know the island, and to know the people who work on it. We're a registered tourism intermediary in the Canary Islands and we work in Spanish, French, English and German, because that's how people arrive here. When you message our WhatsApp you don't get a bot: you get someone who knows whether there's calima on Teide today.

Masca, in the Teno massif. One of those routes we only recommend when it genuinely suits the traveller.

How we choose what you see here

We go before you do

We try the activity or meet whoever runs it face to face. Nothing goes in the catalogue just because it's in someone else's.

Local providers, not chains

We work with island operators. Much of the money you spend here stays here.

We also tell you what not to do

If that excursion doesn't suit your group, your dates or your pace, we'll say so even if it costs us the sale. It's cheaper than a bad day.

Shall we go over it together?

An itinerary on a screen is fine. Fifteen minutes with someone who has actually done those trips is better. We'll tell you what's genuinely worth it, what we'd skip and how to fit it around your schedule.
