The boat for your group, shared with nobody

This is not a boat trip with dozens of strangers: the catamaran sails with your group only, up to 11 people, and the skipper is included. You pay by the hour, €130 an hour for the whole boat, in three set formats. For 3 hours (€390) you get water, Coca-Cola Zero, Sprite and Dorada beer, with crisps, olives and nuts. For 4 hours (€520), the same drinks with a selection of tapas. For 5 hours (€650), white wine is added along with a meat paella, chicken and pork, for the whole group. Food and drinks are not unlimited: they are what the format you book includes. Split between 11 people, the 3-hour trip comes to about €35.50 each; between 6, €65. There is a Bluetooth speaker on board for the group's music.

The route: Los Gigantes cliffs and Masca Bay

From Playa San Juan harbour, the catamaran heads up the south-west coast towards the Los Gigantes cliffs, walls of volcanic rock dropping straight into the sea. It anchors in Masca Bay, at the foot of the ravine, a beach you reach either by hiking down the ravine or by sea. That is the long part of the trip: swimming, snorkelling with the gear on board, going out on the paddle board, lying on the bow net, eating and drinking. When your time is up, the boat heads back to Playa San Juan. With 4 or 5 hours, the stop in Masca is longer and there is time for an unhurried meal.
