Key details
The Tenerife regular tourism doesn't see
The Jeep Safari is one of the most popular excursions among those looking for something different from tourist bus visits. The 4x4s allow access to mountain tracks, dirt roads and viewpoints off the usual routes, especially around Teide National Park and the north of the island.
The usual route covers: the volcanic landscapes of Las Cañadas del Teide, the Masca viewpoint, the ravines of the north, the Anaga laurel forest and traditional inland villages. Along the way, the guide explains Tenerife's geology, flora and history in a friendly, interactive way.
Groups are small (maximum 10-12 people), allowing personal attention and the chance to adapt the route to the group's interests. Ideal for families, couples and groups of friends looking for adventure.

Frequently asked questions
How much does the jeep safari cost?
The half-day to Teide, five hours, is €61 per adult and €47 per child up to 11. The full day through Teide and Masca, seven hours, is €68 and €53. And from the north, the jeep to Masca is €63 and €47. All three leave at 08:20 with free pick-up: from the south on Tuesdays and Thursdays; from the north on Wednesdays at 08:00. Message us on WhatsApp with your date, group size and ages and we will book your vehicle.
How long is it and what time does it leave?
Between 4 and 6 hours depending on the format, with morning and midday departures. The half day is the usual option; the full day lets you go further and stop more often.
Do you pick me up at the hotel?
Yes, pickup and return at your hotel or at an agreed point in Tenerife South are included in the price.
What does the price include?
The 4x4 with a driver-guide, insurance and hotel pickup and return. Depending on the operator, also drinks and a snack. It does not include the main meal or professional photos.
What route does it follow?
The usual route combines the Cañadas del Teide, the Masca viewpoint, the ravines of the north and the Anaga laurel forest, with stops at viewpoints the tourist bus cannot reach. The guide adapts the exact route to the format and the day’s conditions.
Do I need experience for the jeep safari?
No. The jeep safari is a guided excursion in which clients ride as passengers in the 4x4. No driving or previous experience is needed. It is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, though it is recommended for children from 5-6 years old. Mountain roads and dirt tracks can be bumpy in places, so bear that in mind. Children usually enjoy the experience a lot.
Which language does the guide speak?
Spanish, English or French depending on the departure. Tell us which one you need when booking and we confirm the departure that has it on your date.
What should I bring?
Closed shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen and a jacket: on Teide it is considerably colder than on the coast, even in summer. The dirt tracks are dusty, so wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty.
What if it rains?
Tenerife has very varied microclimates. If the north is cloudy, we usually adapt the route towards the south and Teide. We only cancel in cases of heavy rain or unsafe conditions, with a full refund or a change of date. For other reasons, free cancellation up to 48 hours before.
How is the booking confirmed?
Excursions Canaries checks availability, provider conditions and the traveller's level before confirming the experience.
Can you help me organise more than just the activity?
Yes. We can help with accommodation, car hire, spots, restaurants, cafés, recovery and complementary activities.
