Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost and what is included?
€110 per person on the morning and afternoon departures, and €130 on the sunset one. It includes the quad, the guide, basic insurance and the safety briefing. It does not include meals, transfers or photos.
What time does it leave and how long is it?
Three departures a day: 10:00, 14:00 and 18:00 (sunset). The route lasts about 3 hours, from Chío up to the Teide area and back along volcanic roads and tracks with stops at viewpoints.
Where is the meeting point and how do I get there?
In Chío, on the west side of Tenerife, about 30-40 minutes by car from the hotels in Costa Adeje. The exact location reaches you by WhatsApp on confirmation. The transfer is not included; if you do not have a car, ask us and we look at the pickup option for your date.
Do I need a licence to drive the quad?
Yes, a category B licence for whoever drives. The passenger does not need one: each quad takes a driver and a passenger, and the conditions for the passenger (age, weight) are set by the provider and confirmed when you book.
Do I need experience?
No. There is a safety briefing before setting off and the guide sets the pace for the whole route. It is suitable for beginners; the only essentials are the licence and closed shoes.
What do I wear?
Closed shoes, clothes you do not mind getting dusty and a warm layer: the route climbs towards Teide and it gets cool up there even when it is hot on the coast, especially on the sunset departure. Sunglasses and sunscreen.
Morning, afternoon or sunset?
The morning one has the cleanest light and less heat; the afternoon one is the easiest to fit in after a morning at the beach; and the sunset one, €20 more, is the one that gives you the photo: the sun setting over the volcano from the viewpoints. If it is your only motor outing on the trip, go for the sunset.
Which language is the briefing in?
Spanish, English or French. Tell us yours when booking and we confirm it for your departure.
What if the weather is bad?
With heavy rain or wind that makes the route unsafe, the provider reschedules it or proposes another departure; for any other reason, free cancellation up to 48 hours before. Bad weather is rare in the south of Tenerife, but at altitude it changes quickly: if the forecast looks ugly, we warn you the day before.
