Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost, and is the price per jet ski or per person?
Per jet ski: 1 hour, €85 riding solo and €95 with two people on the same jet ski; 2 hours, €140 solo and €150 as a pair. It includes the jet ski, life jacket, briefing, guide or supervised circuit and insurance. It does not include photos, transfer or meals.
Do I need a boat licence?
Not for the guided outing: you go out in a group with a guide leading the route, and that is what allows you to drive without a licence. What you do need is the minimum driver age set by the provider; minors ride as passengers, according to the regulations. We confirm it when you book.
Where is the departure point?
At a harbour in the south of Tenerife that we confirm when you book, together with the exact time. The transfer is not included; if you do not have a car, tell us and we look at the pickup option for your date.
What time do we go out?
There are departures throughout the day, depending on sea conditions and availability. Tell us which day and which slot you prefer — morning or afternoon — and we confirm the exact time.
Do I need experience?
No. Before going out there is a briefing on basic handling and safety rules, and the guide sets the pace. Suitable for beginners; after ten minutes you have the hang of it.
One hour or two?
One hour is enough to leave the harbour, get into open sea and come back wanting more; it is the usual option and the one we recommend if it is your first time. Two hours are for those who already know they like it and want to cover more coastline.
What should I bring?
Swimwear on, a towel, water-resistant sunscreen and something dry for afterwards. The provider supplies the life jacket. Leave at the hotel anything you do not want to get wet: phone included, unless you have a waterproof case.
Which language is the briefing in?
Spanish, English or French. Tell us yours when booking and we confirm it for your departure.
What if the sea is rough?
If the provider considers that the sea does not allow a safe outing, the time or date is changed, or an equivalent alternative is offered. For any other reason, free cancellation up to 48 hours before. It is best not to book it for the last day of your trip.
How is the booking confirmed?
Excursions Canaries checks availability, provider conditions and the traveller's level before confirming the experience.
Can you help me organise more than just the activity?
Yes. We can help with accommodation, car hire, spots, restaurants, cafés, recovery and complementary activities.
