Windsurfing lessons: beginner and improver
Windsurfing is the cheapest sport to start with in El Médano: the beginner group lesson costs €89 for 2 h, €239 for 6 h (three sessions) and €349 for 10 h (five sessions), with instructor, gear and insurance. Private: €139 for 2 h, €399 for 6 h and €599 for 10 h. If you already sail and want to learn to plane, use the harness or the footstraps, there are improver lessons of 1, 2 or 6 h: €95, €159 and €435 with the centre's premium gear, or €65, €129 and €360 with your own.
Windsurf rental: Starter or Premium
Two rates depending on the gear. Starter means Gecko boards from 120 to 156 litres or Vipers and sails up to 5.7 m with aluminium booms: right for beginners and intermediate sailors. It costs €95 a day, €170 for two days, €225 for three, €300 for five, €375 a week and €615 for two weeks. Premium gives access to all the centre's gear with unlimited swaps: €110 a day, €200 for two, €260 for three, €385 for five, €480 a week and €745 for two weeks. There are also 2 h and half-day options (€55 and €85 Starter, €70 and €90 Premium). Board only or sail only, 30% less; flexible days, 20% more.
Booking, timetables and what happens without wind
Message us on WhatsApp with your dates, level and whether you want lessons or rental; we confirm availability with the centre and the exact price, which is the one Duotone publishes on its website. Lesson times are decided each day according to wind and tide, so you're told the evening before or that morning. El Médano is one of the windiest spots in Europe, but if a day turns out calm, the lesson is moved to another day of your stay at no cost. For rentals, however, a windless day still counts as a rental day: that's why the flexible rate (+20%) pays off when the forecast isn't clear.

Cancellation & conditions
Free cancellation up to 48 h before. If there isn't enough wind on the booked day or the sea doesn't allow it, the lesson or rental is moved to another day of your stay at no cost; if no day is left, we review the case with the centre.

How much is a windsurfing lesson in Tenerife?

What's the difference between Starter and Premium rental?
Starter limits the gear to Gecko (120-156 l) or Viper boards and sails up to 5.7 m with aluminium booms: stable, easy and enough for beginners and intermediates. Premium opens up all the centre's gear (wave and freeride boards, big and small sails, carbon booms) with unlimited swaps. If you already plane with a harness, you want Premium.
How much is a week's windsurf rental?
€375 for Starter and €480 for Premium for 7 consecutive days; €615 and €745 for 14. If you'd rather pick your days according to the wind within a longer period, the flexible rate is 20% more. Two people taking turns on the same gear, 25% more.
Can I rent just the board or just the sail?
Yes: board only or sail only (with boom and mast) costs 30% less than the full rate for the same period. It's common when you travel with your sail but don't want to check in the board.
What time are lessons and when do I find out?
There's no fixed timetable: the centre schedules each session according to the wind forecast and tide, and tells you the evening before or that morning. Bear in mind that in El Médano the wind usually strengthens in the afternoon, and lighter wind is better for beginners.
Do I need to swim or be a minimum age?
You need to be able to swim. The centre doesn't publish a fixed minimum age; for beginners what matters is weight and height to choose board and sail. Tell us the age and approximate weight when booking and we confirm.
What does the lesson price include?
Instructor, insurance and all the gear: board, sail, boom, mast, wetsuit and vest. Improver lessons are sold with the centre's premium gear or, cheaper, with your own equipment.
Where is the centre and how do I get there from the south?
On the beach promenade of El Médano, about 10 minutes by car from Tenerife South airport and 20-25 from Los Cristianos or Costa Adeje. Transport isn't included. If you stay in El Médano, everything is within walking distance.
How is the booking confirmed?
