Kitesurfing lessons: group or private
The beginner group course is the cheapest way to start: one kite for every two or three students, an instructor with a Bb Talkin radio so you can hear them from the water, insurance and all the gear. It's sold in blocks of 3 h (€139), 9 h over three days (€389) or 12 h over four days (€479); after 12 h most people are riding. A private lesson goes faster because the kite is yours alone: 2 h for €169, 6 h for €449 or 10 h for €699. If you already ride and want to work on jumps or transitions, there are improver lessons of 1, 2 or 6 h with premium gear (€99, €175 and €499) or with your own equipment (€75, €139 and €389).
Full kitesurfing set rental
For riders who already go out on their own. The full set includes kite, bar, board, wetsuit, vest and helmet, all current-season Duotone, and you can swap gear during your stay. Rates for consecutive days: 1 day €120, 2 days €200, 3 days €265, 5 days €385, 7 days €490 and 14 days €750; there are also 2 h (€75) and half-day (€95) options. If you only need kite and bar (from €100/day) or just a board (from €60/day), they're rented separately. Flexible days within a longer period, +20%; two people sharing the same set, +25%.
How booking works and what happens without wind
Message us on WhatsApp with your travel dates, level and group size; we check with the centre that there's room on those days and confirm the exact price, which is the one you'll see published on Duotone's website. Lesson times aren't fixed in advance: each morning the centre checks wind and tide and tells you when you're on. El Médano has wind most of the year, but if one day doesn't, that block is moved to another day of your stay at no cost. It's best to book the course with most of the week ahead of you, not for the last two days.

Cancellation & conditions
Free cancellation up to 48 h before. If there isn't enough wind on the booked day or the sea doesn't allow it, the lesson or rental is moved to another day of your stay at no cost; if no day is left, we review the case with the centre.

How much does a kitesurfing course in Tenerife cost?
The beginner group course costs €139 for 3 h, €389 for 9 h and €479 for 12 h. A private lesson is €169 for 2 h, €449 for 6 h and €699 for 10 h. These are the centre's public prices; booking with us you pay exactly the same.
How many hours does it take to learn?
The centre sells the group course as 9 h (three days) or 12 h (four days) because that's usually what it takes to control the kite, body drag and start getting up on the board. Private lessons progress faster because the kite isn't shared.
What does the lesson price include?
Instructor, insurance, the Bb Talkin radio system (you wear an earpiece and hear instructions from the water) and all the gear: kite, bar, board, harness, wetsuit, vest and helmet. Only the 'own gear' improver lessons assume you bring your equipment.
Can I rent gear without having done the course?
Only if you already ride independently: you can launch, go upwind back to the same spot and land the kite on your own. If you're starting out, the course is the way, and once you finish it you can keep practising with a rental.
How much is a one-week rental?
The full set (kite, bar, board, wetsuit, vest and helmet) costs €490 for 7 consecutive days and €750 for 14. If you'd rather spread the days over your stay, the flexible rate adds 20%. Kite and bar only: €380 a week; board only: €200.
What time are the lessons?
There's no fixed timetable. The centre schedules each block according to the day's wind and tide and lets you know the evening before or that morning. That's why it helps to be flexible and not book the course for the last two days of your trip.
Is there a minimum age or weight?
The centre doesn't publish a fixed minimum age: in kitesurfing what matters is weight, because the kite size is chosen according to it. Tell us the age and approximate weight when booking and we check before confirming.
Where is the centre and how do I get there?
On the beach promenade of El Médano, in south Tenerife, about 10 minutes by car from Tenerife South airport and 20-25 from Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje. Transport isn't included; if you're staying in El Médano, it's a walk.
How is the booking confirmed?
